This charming fellow in 10k rose gold has a slithery, undulating silhouette that tapers from its carved head and its glittering rose cut diamond, to a fine point at the tip of its tail 4 3/16-inches away, performing an acrobatic pair of loops along the way. Dating to circa 1900 and in excellent condition with a locking pin-back, it tests positive for 10k gold, measures 4 3/16-inches long, 1/2-inches wide at the larger loop and weighs 5.7 grams.
Despite its sinister connotations to the modern world, the snake, inspired by the snake-form proposal ring Prince Phillip offered to Queen Victoria, became a symbol of eternal love to the Victorians.
