Antique French Diamond Flower Brooch Extravaganza

Offered is this simply stunning and shimmering, diamond flower pin from France. Dating to approximately 1900 - 1920, it has layers of overlapping petals set with sparkly rose cut diamonds and a European cut diamond in the center, weighing approximately 40 points. All stones are of very good quality, cut and color.
The front is made of silver to provide a luminescent background to the diamonds. The back is 18 kt gold. The pin is original and bears some faded hallmarks. It measures 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" which is a nice, medium size. If you are daring, consider converting it to an amazing, and large, ring. Or add a bale and you have a super necklace! Condition is very good. It appears that at one time it had a screw receptacle on the back so that it could be applied to another piece. Perhaps it was added to an ornate hair piece.
