Lovely American Victorian 14k Gold Ruby Pearl Star Brooch/Pendant
Presented is a stunning American Victorian 14 karat gold brooch/pendant, set
with a ruby and pearls. This piece dates to the 1870s-1890s. The brooch is done
in the shape of a six pointed star, the points interspersed with natural
teardrop shaped pearls. The center of the star is set with a circle of six round
seed pearls, with a round faceted ruby in the center. The ruby is a real,
mined-from-the-ground stone. Based on the time period, the pearls are all
natural. The pin has an old c style clasp, with a loop so it can be worn as a
pendant as well.
This piece is in great condition. The ruby and pearls are all well set. There
are no breaks and no repairs.
This piece is not stamped or hallmarked. We have tested the brooch with
nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 1 inch in diameter.
The pin weighs 3.8 grams.
