Lovely French Art Nouveau 18K Gold Enamel Cherry Blossom Flower Brooch / Pendant !
Fully hallmarked, eagles head which is French for 18K gold, and the makers mark PD with a four panel window image between the letters with the traditional French makers mark diamond box (4th & 5th images). Weighs approximately 3.8 grams. Approximately 2.2 cm (14/16 of an inch) in diameter. One petal in proximity to the pearl has an enamel chip as well as two smaller enamel chips, the jewel retains its beauty and purpose, no?! The pearl symbolism is purity, so the giver is telling the gifted that she is a cherry blossom flower and everything else surrounding her is a branch or a twig in comparison, typical French romanticism of the 19th century where jewels carried lovely messages of devotion.
