    Description

Presented is a pair of Victorian 14 karat yellow gold brooches or pins made in
the 1860s-1880s. The pins match in design, but are different sizes. Both feature
a three dimensional acorn topped with oak leaves, very finely textured and
detailed, inside a border of black enamel decoration. The larger pin has its
original C style clasp and the smaller one has had a modern replacement clasp
with a safety latch for added security.
Both pieces have been tested with nitric acid and are guaranteed to be 14
    karat gold purity.
This set is in great overall condition for its age. The larger pin has no
loss of enamel and the smaller one has a tiny spot of enamel missing at the very
top. There are no other flaws and no repairs.
The pins measure 1 and 1 3/8 inches long and the combined weight of the pair
    is 8.2 grams.
